List is nice but you missed many great films like Junoon (1979), Kalyug (1981), Mandi (1983), Trikal (1985) & many more. Plus you only listed films from 50′s except Barsaat. You didn’t mention or I don’t think you ever watch Alam Ara (1931), Achhut Kanya (1936), Duniya Na Mane (1937), Aadmi (1939), Dr Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani (1946) & etc. & last but not least you gave no 1 to Black. It is totally unfair Pyaasa or Kaagaz Ke Phool deserve that rank & Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam deserve 3rd rank.

first thing…since you are still young blood…do not…I mean do not…really!…ask people to give their emails etc….just leave a box where people are free to leave comments..anything they like….it’ll be fun even if they are anonymous and you have to learn to take a lot of shit….and you have to find a way to get somebody promote you in US…a lot of “desi” movies and “desi” ideas are getting funded because they have the potential to make money!…so find a way to do that….dont give up your day job yet…but if you are passionate and you have the drive…you have to give up something to get to your real dreams…One cautionary word…if you are India its more likely your dreams will get crushed than…say in US.

Wow..last line just gave me goosebumps…i particularly like the ending… ending was brilliant…many aitmes poem starts well but loose the steam when coming to end… but this is different, I am not a literature critic, don’t know in whihc genre should it be put, but if there is ever a lover who fell in love with person from other religion will just got blown away by this..

I dont know if you know i am currently in New york film academy,NEW YORK
THe news from my side is that i am about to finish my
movie titled “An affair with new york”
I wanted you to help me with the lyrics at one place.

THis movie is semi autobiographical fiction
Its about a guy called vikram patel who goes to NEw york
to learn filmmaking from india and how initially he feels dislocated ,
but how in the quest to acclamatize himself to the
whole environment and pace of the city he actually falls in love with the
NYC. ONe of his classmates Kelly and him go out just touring around new york finding nice places to shoot.
The song comes at this juncture where
he actually realizes that new york is actually very beautiful and also that he starts to like this girl.
This movie is entirely in english,the lyrics will be in hindi though.
If you are free and can devote time to writing lyrics it will be great
Get back to me and then may be we can have a chat over the phone or something
